    Abstract

    This chapter reviews the contributions to the book and examines digital innovation strategies for developing communities in the new century. It highlights the encouraging engagement of innovation leaders and developing communities to influence innovation diffusion from within developing community contexts. In determining digital innovation strategies for communities, it addresses important areas for e-government in not only improving egovernment readiness but also in taking steps to develop e-government maturity; e-commerce in addressing unique barriers in developing countries; the key role of social media and ensuring benefits of information communication technology (ICT) for small firms in developing countries, and tools to monitor environmental sustainability and to ensure that there is effective utilization of ICT infrastructure through high-speed broadband.
