Abstract

A dual-band flexible textile antenna with reconfigurability in both frequency and operation mode is presented. The antenna is designed to switch between broadside and omnidirectional modes centered at 2.45 GHz and 3.50 GHz, respectively. Importantly, frequency reconfigurability is introduced in both radiation modes, namely tuning from 1.92 to 2.58 GHz for the lower band and from 3.26 to 4.10 GHz for the higher band. An antenna prototype is manufactured and measured to validate the reconfigurable multi-mode operating concept.
