    Abstract

What do AA, Kate Moss, Little House on the Prairie, Jaws and Abba have in common? They all turn 40 in 2014 (see <http://fashion.telegraph.co.uk/galleries/TMG10576109/40- things-turning-40-in-2014.html>). In AA1 Ron Lamport commented in the very first editorial: A newsletter is a fairly easy thing to start off, particularly when it is buoyed by the wave of enthusiasm a new association generates. It is more difficult to maintain year after year. In many groups like ours, everyone likes to receive a newsletter, but few can spare the time to write the articles that will keep it going.
