Abstract

Forensic Science International: Genetics aims to disseminate innovations in the field of Forensic Genetics and Forensic Genomics as well as support collaborations between the different players in the diverse forensic landscape by bringing together academic and non-academic researchers, practitioners, and other stakeholders. As in any field of science, scientific publication in forensic genetics and genomics is an important corner stone in the advancement of forensic science, technology and their practical applications in forensic casework. Scientific publication plays a crucial role in developing new and validating existing knowledge and technology in forensic genetics and genomics, promoting transparency and rigor in scientific research, and demonstrating that new or existing genetic and genomic knowledge and technology is suitable for practical forensic applications. The Journal holds a leading role in the advancement of science and technology in the field of Forensic Genetics and Forensic Genomics including the application of genetics and genomics in forensic practice, and serves as premier platform for evidence-based information to inform decision-making in the forensic community and beyond in society.
