Abstract

The past few months have seen the very welcome return of face-to-face Obstetric Medicine meetings around the globe. After virtual meetings and webinars filled the void during pandemic-related travel restrictions, there was a question about whether in-person meetings would return, given the increased ease and reduced cost of virtual meetings, as well as the reduced carbon footprint when international flights are avoided. However, there is now a renewed appreciation for in-person events. We are realising the importance of personal interactions and in-person attendance to optimise the learning process, avoid distractions which are all too common when working virtually, as well as the facilitation of research collaboration.
