Abstract

We describe our experience and salvage surgical management of a rare life-threatening complication in a patient with paravertebral abscess and thoracic aortic false aneurysm.

A 79-year-old male presented to emergency with anorexia, back and chest wall pain, dyspnoea and night sweats. Comorbidities were hypertension and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease.
