Abstract
A 76-year-old lady presented with recurrent episodes of small bowel obstruction, rectal prolapse and a retained pill camera from about 4 years prior. A previous laparotomy at the time had failed to locate the pill-camera and a conservative approach had been taken since. Her extensive medical history included Crohn's disease for which she was being treated with Azathioprine, chronic anaemia and previous long-term nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) use. As she required a magnetic resonance imaging at presentation to evaluate concurrent bilateral chronic osteomyelitis of her feet, the patient was referred to us for surgical removal of the capsule and concurrent rectopexy...
