abstract = "For enhancing the transient stability, this paper proposes a robust controller for excitation systems which is designed using the integral-backstepping control theory. First, using the feedback linearizing approach, the nonlinearity of the nonlinear power system is canceled and the system is converted to a reduced-order system. Next, to show the proposed controller's robustness, the reduced-order model is modified by incorporating external disturbances. Afterward, the integral-backstepping control method is used for obtaining the control law. Finally, the stability of the whole power system is verified using the theory of the Lyapunov function. On a SMIB power system with a substantial disturbance at the SG's terminal, the usefulness of the proposed excitation controller is tested.",
