Abstract
The equation of state of very hot nuclei before break-up is investigated numerically by using a statistical model. The isotherms are drawn in the plane of generalized pressure P vs. freeze-out volume VRT. The critical temperature Tc of a new kind of phase transition is estimated from the critical isotherm with a vanishing slope and an inflection point, to be nearly equal to 5 MeV.
