Abstract
This issue of the Evaluation Journal of Australasia brings together theoretical and practical perspectives on evaluation. The articles explore the role that social theory plays in evaluation, the utilisation of evaluation in systemic change, evaluation methodology considerations, and evaluation impact from a policy perspective. The articles demonstrate how the purpose of evaluation is shaped in different ways by evaluators, commissioners, stakeholder relationships and policy imperatives.
