Abstract
This study focussed on the measurement of bullying and peer aggression. This is a very important facet of research in the field of bullying. We know that involvement in bullying is damaging to participants, and that it can even be fatal. A meta-analysis by Holt et al. (2015) demonstrated that “involvement in bullying in any capacity is associated with suicidal ideation and behaviour” (p. 1). It is imperative therefore that we undertake rigorous empirical research incorporating accurate measures if we are to better understand peer aggression and develop effective interventions that will reduce the harm experienced by young people from peers.
