Abstract
In any care setting in which you might find yourself working as a nurse, there will be a set of needs that every patient must have addressed in order to ensure their
physical and psychosocial health, safety and wellbeing. These needs, and the activities undertaken to address them, represent the core of nursing work. Together, these needs and caring activities are known as ‘fundamental care’.
