Abstract

Family-friendly policies are necessary in Australian societies as married women's participation in the workforce has increased and they have to simultaneously negotiate paid employment and family care as the latter remains a predominately female responsibility. Women's incorporation into the public sphere is reshaping the gendered identities ascribed to female workers.
