N2 - On June 9, 2011, the World Health Organization and World Bank launched the first-ever World Report on Disability. The aims of the report are ambitious: to synthesize the best available scientific information and, from this, to make recommendations for action at national and international levels that will promote the well-being, dignity, social inclusion, and human rights of people with disabilities around the globe. This monumental task has taken 4 years and has included contributions from 370experts (including several members of the International Association on the Scientific Study of Intellectual Disability) from74 countries.
