Abstract
During March and April I thought of you often, no longer tucked behind your mother's pelvic bones, but rising in her abdomen, settling well into the middle trimester of your gestation. There's something extraordinary about the anticipation of a child, tinged as it is with fear and potential sorrow. Having a child is one of the bravest things you can do.
