Abstract

In 2022, while the global community was recovering from the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic, a new global virus outbreak emerged, namely mpox. We describe how, despite significant challenges, Australia and Aotearoa New Zealand (AoNZ) managed to avoid large local outbreaks of mpox.
