Abstract

Addition of hydrolysed trimethylgallium to an excess of 18-crown-6 in water affords an alkyl μ-hydroxo bridged Ga(III) trimer in solution (pH ca. 6) and the solid, isolated as the hydrogen bonded assembled supermolecule [{Me2Ga(μ-OH)}3·3H2O]2·18-crown-6.
