Abstract

Addition of hydrolysed trimethylgallium to an excess of 18-crown-6 in water affords an alkyl μ-hydroxo bridged Ga(III) trimer in solution (pH ca. 6) and the solid, isolated as the hydrogen bonded assembled supermolecule [{Me₂Ga(μ-OH)}₃·3H₂O]₂·18-crown-6.
