Abstract
The paper reports on rates of accession under cleared and uncleared mallee country in far South Western New South Wales using chloride as a natural tracer. Landuse and management options targeted as key recharge areas appear to have potential to impact on recharge. Some of these options are discussed. The results of this preliminary work point to areas needing further study. This will provide the necessary information on which to base recommendations for landuse and management to mimimze recharge of groundwater. -from Authors
