Abstract
Classical approaches to characterizing the pharmacokinetics, metabolism and interactions of new drugs have involved animal studies to define potential metabolic pathways, phase I studies in humans that often use the radio-labelled compound to define actual pathways, and drug interaction studies in volunteer subjects and patients.
