Abstract
The Inclusive Innovation Advisory Group (IIAG) Implementation Toolkit was developed to support research teams, centres, and partner organisations seeking to embed lived-experience governance into the design, development, implementation, and review of technology-enabled care. Developed at Flinders University through the early establishment of IIAG and its Lived Experience Expert Panel, the toolkit brings together a practical set of governance and implementation resources, including guiding principles, governance structures, participation agreements, onboarding materials, and adaptation guidance. It is intended for use in home-based aged care and disability support contexts, particularly where advanced assistive technologies, digital health tools, or related innovations are being introduced. The toolkit is designed as an adaptable resource rather than a fixed model. Its purpose is to help organisations move beyond ad hoc consultation towards structured, ethical, culturally safe, and responsive forms of lived-experience governance that can strengthen the relevance, legitimacy, and real-world usability of innovation.
