Abstract

Interprofessional Research.Global (IPR.Global) is the global network for interprofessional education and collaborative practice (IPECP) research committed to facilitating the generation of high-quality, relevant, and contextualized IPECP research that can be understood, used, and implemented by a wide range of stakeholders (IPR.Global, 2020a; Khalili, 2020). This chapter presents the IPR.Global network organizational structure, current and future needs for IPECP research, lessons learned, and implications. Within the context of the discussion, micro-, meso-, and macro-level structures and functions ofIPR.Global will be identified. Grounded in foundational work by D'Amour and Oandasan (2005), micro levels are in reference to individuals, including learners, educators/faculty, researchers, health and social care service providers, and service users (patients/families). The meso level denotes institutional/organizational strata, such as practice settings and academic centers, while the macro level signifies systemic factors, including educational (accreditation, institutional structures), professional (regulation, liability), governmental (policies), and sociocultural (values). The three levels are interdependent and iterative, each informing the other. IPECP research, including evaluation, underpins and informs all levels (D'Amour & Oandasan, 2005).
