    Abstract

SOME PLACES IN THIS WORLD SIMPLY brim with magic. There are the obvious places, of course, the ones where supernatural encounters are so often sought and so often expected to be found. Stone circles and fairy rings, ley lines and dolmen, whispering woods and graveyards. Tor-topped hills. Haunted houses. Cathedrals with cloud-piercing spires. Humble Romanesque churches. Open-air temples overlooking quiet barrow downs. Ancient sites drenched with sacrificial blood.
