Abstract
Paramedics in their role as emergency medical care providers are in a unique position to provide mental health assessment, care and transport for those with mental ill-health. Paramedics, as one of only a few professions which provide immediate emergency medical care and cross boundaries into both primary and tertiary care, attend individuals in their home and in the community. Paramedicine is undergoing a change in service provision as public health needs and demands change (Eaton et al., 2019)
