Abstract

At the general assembly of the 26th International Congress of the International Society for Forensic Genetics held in Krakow, Poland on 3 September 2015, a status update on Forensic Science International: Genetics was presented1 by John Butler on behalf of the journal editors. Since the journal was launched in March 2007, there have been 1160 articles published across 45 issues through volume 19 (November 2015). Fig. 1 displays the number of in print and electronic-only articles published. Most articles are published in print (with page numbers) in less than four months and are typically available on-line within a few weeks of acceptance thanks to article-based publishing that began with volume 8 two years ago.
