    Abstract

The Report presented here is a result of work undertaken by Human Services Training Advisory Council (HSTAC) and key stakeholders to support development of the Aboriginal Health and Community Workforce of Northern Territory. In 2012 HSTAC published a Workforce Planning and Development Strategy for Aboriginal Workers in Health and Community Services, developed in collaboration with key stakeholders, Aboriginal Medical Services Alliance Northern Territory, Commonwealth Department of Education, Employment and Workplace Relations, Commonwealth Department of Health and Ageing, Northern Territory Department of Business and Employment, Northern Territory Department of Children and Families, Northern Territory Department of Health and the Northern Territory Department of Education and Training. The objectives were to enhance health and well-being outcomes for Indigenous Territorians by:

Increasing Indigenous economic participation in the health and community services workforce in all areas and at all levels.

Delivering culturally appropriate services directly resulting from increased participation of Indigenous people in the delivery of these services.
