Abstract
The current project uses a critical realist approach to propose a systems model to be implemented across the UCSA footprint. Rather than conduct yet more research to provide yet more recommendations, for this project we started with evidence of what we know works. We examined the existing evidence both in Australia and internationally to find models with potential and brought these to the table for the communities that UCSA serves, the workers who deliver services and the executive decision-makers to consider what might work and under what circumstances in their own community, cultural, geographical and economic contexts. The research question guiding this project is: What works for country children living in care, while enabling them to stay in their communities?
