Abstract
Timeline, year by year, from when a skull was found in the Columbia River near Kennewick, Washington state, USA, on 28 July 1996 to November 2007 when Congressman Doc Hastings (R-WA) proposing a bill opposed to the McCain amendment to clarify that Congress only intended NAGPRA to 'apply to human remains or other cultural items that have a special, significant and substantial relationship to presently existing Native Americans', with Hastings's intention being that 'scientific enquiry is not extinguished'.
