Lessons from the 1996 Research Assessment Exercise

Research output: Contribution to journalArticlepeer-review

Abstract

In this paper, Alison Kitson puts forward a positive strategy to improve the profile of nursing research.

This is a personal interpretation of the results of, and lessons to be learnt from, the most recent Research Assessment Exercise (RAE). Like many others who entered for the first time, and indeed like those who have gone through it all before, the RAE can be a bittersweet experience.
