Abstract

What is a diary now? How are diary texts valued within contemporary literary/cultural frameworks? What is the significance of digital and online media in the continuation and evolution of diary writing as an autobiographical mode? This self-reflexive discussion considers methods and concepts for working with the diary as a hybrid contemporary form at a time when the nature of everyday acts of self-representation and the conventions around public and private identity/discourse are radically evolving.
