Missed the Launch (But Made the After-Party)

    Abstract

We missed the launch. The life of the congregations you and I are part of today was launched way back in 30-ish AD with the resurrection and appearances of Jesus of Nazareth and the pouring out of the Holy Spirit on his wonder-struck Jewish disciples. It was launched in 44-ish AD when the Jerusalem church sent Barnabus to investigate rumours of irregularity in Antioch - where the outrageously multicultural disciples were first called 'Christians' (Acts 11:19-26).
