Abstract
In 2018, NT PHN commissioned NCETA to develop a 5-year NT-specific AOD WFD Strategic Framework (2019-2014) which aligned to the National AOD WFD Strategy 2015-2018 (1), other relevant government initiatives e.g., Demand Study for Alcohol Treatment Services in the Northern Territory (2), and incorporated consultations with key Northern Territory Stakeholders. The Strategic Framework:
• Operationalises the Action Areas recommended in an initial Needs Assessment2
• Includes the WFD needs of the NT AOD Aboriginal workforce
• Incorporates models for recruitment, retention, professional development and career pathways
• Builds on extensive consultation with the sector (see Appendix 1)
• Identifies new initiatives and consolidates a range of existing WFD initiatives currently being undertaken in the NT.
