    Abstract

This paper discusses the frame indifference or objectiviy or the invariance property of the stress fucntional indifference or objectivity or the invariance property of the stress functional introduced by Goddard. It is more restrictive than that which arises in the simple fluid theory. It is shown that rate-type nature directly correlates with the derivative of the relative strain, and hence the relationship between this derivative and Goddard's theory is shown.
