Abstract
The development of wrist stiffness can be a consequence of many different factors. These can be categorized into extra-capsular, capsular, or intra-capsular causes. This chapter elucidates the presentation of these causes and demonstrates the ways to distinguish between them through thorough examination and investigation. In turn, treatment can be targeted accordingly. This chapter also highlights two of the localized neurological conditions, namely acute carpal tunnel syndrome and complex regional pain syndrome, which are often a subject of controversy and tend to be overlooked.
