    Abstract

Carbon nanomaterials (CNMs) stabilised by p-phosphonated calix[8]arene are decorated with Pd nano-particles via hydrogen reduction of H 2PdCl4 in a vortex fluidic device, with control over particle size (1.3 nm to 7 nm). The composite is readily incorporated into sensors for up to 10% hydrogen detection, using a drop casting method.
