Abstract

Complexation of the two pyridyl residues of a naphthalene imide guest by a V-shaped bis-porphyrinic host occurs with an association constant of the order of 10⁸ M^-1 and results in the quenching of the porphyrin luminescence with a rate of 1.2 × 10¹⁰ s^-1, assigned to electron transfer.
