Postextubation laryngospasm abolished by doxapram

Abstract

The successful treatment with doxapram of five cases of postextubation laryngospasm is described. The increased respiratory drive from doxapram is suggested as the mechanism of action. Doxapram is a new adjunct in the treatment of this condition.
