Abstract
Minimising falls and harm from falls remains a key challenge for the quality of care of older people in hospitals. Fortunately, many falls can be prevented with the systematic implementation of tailored multifactorial falls and harm from falls prevention interventions.
Purpose and background: The Preventing Falls and Harm from Falls in Older People: Best Practice Guidelines for Australian Hospitals (the Falls Guidelines) provides best practice advice and supporting resources on preventing falls and harm from falls in older people for health professionals providing care to older people in Australian hospitals.
