    Abstract

Welcome to the 24th Saltwater Intrusion Meeting (SWIM) and the 4th Asia-Pacific Coastal Aquifer Management Meeting (APCAMM), being held during 4th to 8th July 2016 in Cairns Australia. Both APCAMM and SWIM are dedicated to the provision of specialized for students, scientists, engineers, water resource managers and planners to share problems, methodologies and ideas to improve the investigation and management of coastal groundwater and related fields. For the first time in the meeting’s 48-year history, SWIM is being held in “APCAMM territory”, i.e. the AsiaPacific region. This was the impetus for bringing SWIM and APCAMM together in Cairns.
