Abstract

The goal of publishing research is to enable the work to not only be disseminated, but also to be replicated. Replication may be essential for establishment of new experimental techniques or validation of novel findings. True replication, however, can only be achieved by providing the appropriate experimental details in the published literature and/or contacting the authors to obtain the required information. Often the small nuances of experimental protocols may require the latter, but the basic information should be present in the published article.
