Abstract

Treatment of di-t-butyl ketone with excess H3MNMe3, M = Al or Ga, yields dimeric [H2M{훍-OC(H)But2}]2 which for M = A1 association prevails, in the solid via two symmetrical bridging hydrides between single aluminium centers from different dimers such that the metal centers are either four or five coordinate, as distorted tetrahedra or square pyramids.
