Abstract

We appreciate the interest and commentary of Dr. Jessica Ruggiero and coauthors1 regarding our recently published cohort study.2 As clinicians working in an Italian neonatal intensive care unit, they share similar concern regarding the study's reported incidence of umbilical catheter–related adverse events, particularly catheter-tip malposition and migration. We agree with their comments and reinforce their suggested strategies in improving practice to mitigate these adverse events.
