    Abstract

Breathlessness ‘crises’ in people with chronic respiratory conditions are a common cause of Emergency Department (ED) presentations. Many such ED presentations might be avoided through better self-management and support. This study sought insights from patients and families with experience of an ED ‘near miss’ where they considered going to ED but successfully self-managed at home.
