Abstract
We read with interest the recently published Multinational Association of Supportive Care in Cancer (MASCC) recommendations on the management of constipation in patients with advanced cancer and wish to complement the authorship team on the rigour with which they approached this work [1].
There is however one discussion point we would like to raise. Amongst the recommendations is the suggestion that plain radiographs may be helpful in assessing patients with constipation including those patients with cancer [1]. While this opinion is commonly held by many clinicians, a growing body of evidence questions it.
