Abstract
ROBERT YEO, THE SINGAPORE TRILOGY: ARE YOU THERE, SINGAPORE, ONE YEAR BACK HOME, CHANGI,2ND EDN (SINGAPORE: EPIGRAM BOOKS, 2022)
The second edition of Robert Yeo’s The Singapore Trilogy came out twenty-one years after the publication of its first edition in 2001, via anew publisher. The Introduction by K.K. Seet and Chitra Sankaranin the first edition has been replaced with a new Introduction by Nah Dominic and Adeeb Fazah, and in place of Ban Kah Choon’s interview with Robert Yeo, there is now an article by the playwright himself on the staging history of the plays. There are also several images showcasing posters and rehearsal photos from previous performances.As for the plays’ text, there is little change, suggesting that the new edition was prompted more by a need to cater to the market than by an editorial demand.
