Abstract

This article by Allen-Mersh et al. presents a very interesting method of identifying patients at high risk for developing recurrence following surgical resection in colorectal cancer. While we complement the authors for introducing a variation in the existing concept of the important role that circulating tumour cells have on predicting metastasis and recurrence, we feel that the test is definitely not a ‘stand alone’ test
