Abstract

Statins inhibit 3-hydroxyl-3-methylglutaryl coenzyme A(HMG-CoA) reductase, a key enzyme in cholesterol biosynthesis, and possess anti-inﬂammatory properties in addition to their lipid-lowering effects.
