Abstract
Evidence-based medicine has been the backbone of modern health care. Careful evaluation and synthesis of high-quality evidence may provide robust information that can be applied to policy and patient-level decision making, while accounting for patient preferences and needs and local contextual factors, with transformational effects on provision and delivery of care.
