Abstract

Nanoporous silica glass was formed by melting- phase separating method. After the pre-formed nanoporous silica glass was then soaked in zinc acetate solution and further heat treatment, ZnO doped nanoporous silica glass was prepared. Transmission spectra,photoluminesence spectra and XRD, X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) at room temperature were studied. Results show that Zn ions combined with the glass structure and Si-O-Zn was formed. ZnO nanoparticles were also precipitated in the composite material, which exhibits strong emission around 390nm.
