Abstract

Slow diffusion of 8-aminoquinoline (H₂NQ) into an ethereal solution of SbCl₃ affords the title compounds [Sb(HNQ)Cl₂] and [H₃NQ] ⁺ [SbCl₄]⁻. The X-ray crystal structure of the latter reveals discrete cationic units with the anionic units making up an infinite polymeric chain containing chloride bridges.
